General definition of a Forum: A public place or meeting for open discussions.

A lot of the concepts and jargon of a web Forum can be related to a bulletin board where you post messages for your family or co-workers.

A web Forum contains multiple bulletin boards and they are grouped within categories. On our Team forum we started with 2 Categories, "Prayer Team" and "Web Site Discussions".

Under the "Prayer Team" category we started with 3 boards, "Pray for our Nation", "Pray for our Children" and "General Discussions".

Within each board you can post a New Topic (to start a new discussion) or you can click on an existing Topic and then post a Reply to that topic.

For further information click on the HELP link on the main menu, located just under the top banner. Once on the main HELP page notice the links in red just under the main menu. For example you can click on the Posting link to see description on Posting Basics, etc..

Hope this helps,
